are there any baby heart beat apps for early pregnancy that aren't fake?

I've been hearing a lot of talks regarding the baby heart beat apps lately and it's made me wonder:
How much more effective than a at home baby heart monitor can they be when it's so hard to listen to the baby on the home monitor?
Are those apps fake? Fit with a prerecord end  sound to give us false hopes ?
If there are some that are truly not fake what app is it and what has your experience been?
Thanks!

I like shell too. I really think the people who pick up the fake heartbeat on it are the people who don't follow the directions. My OB said we will test it out when we use his Doppler and compare though. :) For now, it at least makes me feel better.

Only the ones that require a separate Doppler attachment aren't fake. Some of the others MIGHT work closer to 40 weeks, but on most I've found the others to straight up lie. My heart beat was 75bpm but the Phone app picked up a clear 120 bpm heartbeat....in my hand....

Sorry no phone app can hear your baby's heartbeat.... I suggest a home doppler though, I bought mine off of amazon for like $35. Sonoline B, it works great.
