Ok so a little bit of back story first. I started having really high blood pressures around 27 weeks and had been place on weekly appointments ever since. At 33 weeks I was in preterm labor but they stopped it. So at my 38 week appt my doctor finally decided to induce me at 39 weeks because my blood pressure was still rising weekly and not getting any better. Ok on to the birth story .. i arrived at L&D 11.9.16 at 9 pm to start the induction process. I was to be given cervidil for 12 hours to help thin my cervix. I had only been 3 cms since 33 weeks and my cervix was still very thick and high. So the cervidil was inserted around 10 pm ( most uncomfortable crap EVER πŸ˜–). It was very uncomfortable the nurse said it's because my cervix was so high up and they basically have to try to get it behind the cervix so yeah it sucked. I went to sleep after the cervidil because nothing was really happening. I don't know what I was thinking was gonna happen but I had no action lol so I went to sleep. Around 5:30 am my nurse woke me up saying she was gonna go ahead and remove the Cervidil and see if I had any change and go from there. She removes the cervidil and checks me.. I'm still a freaking 3 and thick so I'm just like πŸ˜• at this point . So my nurse goes into this whole spill about well you have the choice to just go home because if your body isn't ready nothing will happen and then you will end up having a c section. 😳.. she had done it she had said those god awful words to me ..C SECTION.. so my hubby sits up cuz he knew I was terrified of that. So she gives me a few minutes to make a decision. I tell my husband LOOK DUDE, I'm not going home still pregnant so let's just carry on . He nods and says ok cool it's your show I'm just the hype man πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚. So the nurse comes back in I tell her no we're gonna continue. She says ok. She starts the pitocin drip at 6:30 and strap your seat belts cuz this is where the show really gets on the road lol. 7 am is shift change so I now have my new nurse ginger (freakin angel I swear she was amazing) . So she comes in and she's asking health questions and I'm grimacing through contractions trying to answer questions. She decides to check me because I looked like I was dying. She checks me and boom I'm a 4. I went from a 3 to a 4 in 30 minutes. She already told me L&D was slam packed with inductions and c sections for the day so if I planned on an epidural I needed to get it ASAP. After she checked me she put my name on the list for an epidural. So the contractions are coming like every 2 minutes and they are PAINFUL dear god they were awful. I'm breathing through them but sheesh I still wanted to just rip my uterus out at this point. My hubby had been up all night and he was thirsty so I told him go get something to drink I'll live. Well while he's gone ginger comes back in and I'm breathing and crying at this point through contractions so she hugs me and says you're doing really well.. let me check you again and see what's going on. She checks and Β I'm now a 7!!!! From a 4 to a 7 in 30 minutes .. so I texted my hubby like um yeah dude get back here cuz we'll have a baby soon. He gets back 10 minutes later .. LITERALLY 10 minutes. So the doc comes in to check me I am now a 10!!! 7 to 10 in 10 minutes 😱😱. The doc looks at me and she says you are clearly in a lot of pain so I tell you what we can do.. she was like if you work with me we can have this baby out in 5 minutes or you can sit here and wait another 30 minutes for this epidural but you aren't gonna make it . So I'm looking like 😳😳😳 push a baby out with no epidural?! Lady are you NUTS?!! what kind of crack did you smoke this morning before you clocked in cuz ohhhh hellllssss no πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚.. she says I'll give you a second to think.. well decision didn't take long because another contraction hit and I threw my legs open and screamed GET HER OUT.. they threw those stir ups up and I started pushing at 9:31 am .. at 9:36 am I gave birth to a beautiful 8 lb 11.1 oz baby girl named Alaya McKinleigh. I couldn't believe it. I was so proud of myself. She's absolutely beautiful and perfect. I feel like I can do anything now.. assemble a car, build a house fly a plane 😭😭.
