Can I treat a yeast infection myself?

I feel like I'm just starting to get a yeast infection. I'm not comfortable asking my mom to get me the treatment kit or even using it. I have a problem with putting things inside me so it's not much of an option. Any tips on how to help treat it/prevent it?

Please see a doctor but if you really can't, use boric acid suppositories. But don't ignore it!! Ignoring it can only lead to bigger problems
