Severus for a boy?

I really like this name for a boy and while I am a Harry Potter fan , I really do just like the name itself. I've been concidering it for a boy. 
I was just wanting opinions. What do you think when you hear the name (obviously for most people Harry Potter..but would that end up being a bad thing? 
It really is a handsome name despite being from a  book

It's your baby so obviously no one can stop you... but please don't.
Consider that your adorable baby will grow up and still have to use this name and how difficult it's going to be.

Think.about your son trying to.run for.president. or being a movie star, or a well known doctor or teacher or something else that he will be in the eyes of society and a role model to children or other people.

I'm a massive Potterhead but I wouldn't name my kid after him. A lot of people have mixed feelings on him. I mean, he bullied a child so much that he became that child's biggest fear.

I think it's an amazing name. I wouldn't ask peoples opinions on names. Especially not in an Internet forum where people can hide behind their keyboards. There's a whole thread on here JUST to shame name choices!! Disgusting.

It's your baby! And you have the right to name him. My sons are Marcus and Godric (does that last one sound familiar? ;) )

I like it and if it's any consolation, I considered the name Sirius for a boys name.

It's YOUR child, all these women are saying "please don't". What if we told him to "please don't". It's your baby. I'm a harry potter fan too so I get where you are coming from. Are you going to have a nickname for him instead of calling him by the whole first name?

No I name my daughter Bella and people comment on it with relation to twilight 😕 my partner is Italian and he picked that name and we love it it is not because we like twighlight and your boy will be picked on by everyone

Im a huge potterhead as well and, just my opinion, (obviously he's your kid and ultimately it's your decision) but I wouldn't do it. I mean I don't know, he's actually my favorite character and i do love him a lot but I just associate Severus with so much sadness and depression and misery. I know he was actually full of love and all that but he lived a pretty bitter life so the name association would put me off.
