Do you consider an emergency C-section "natural"

I'm not understanding why I keep seeing people getting offended by saying it's not natural. It's not, BUT there is nothing wrong with it and a mother who has a c-section is no less a mother than one who delivered vaginally. The word natural is not a compliment. It's just a word that people keep trying to bend the definition for because some people make others feel inferior for not having a "natural" birth.

Who gives a shit? You know what's natural? Maternal and neonatal mortality. Women who hemorrhage and die. Babies whose hearts stop and who are deprived of oxygen and die. Babies who die of internal bleeding due to clotting disorders. Screw natural, I'll take survival over nature.

Well, it's not "natural" in the technical sense that the baby is being born the way the body was designed for. But I don't think a c section of any kind is any less challenging or a lesser type of birth. Some babies come out one way, some babies come out another. It's just another way to be born.

The process of giving birth itself is a NATURAL process ... natural in the sense the world describes only mean unassisted and unmedicated ... and when u actually think about it a vaginal birth that includes a doctor ASSISTING is technically not natural birth either !!! I had an emergency c-section which is a lot more stress on the body (recovering) ... and I'm proud of it... I wish someone would try to make me feel otherwise !!! Sorry not sorry... Hell we go through an entire pregnancy experiencing most of the same symptoms and issues so who cares how baby gets here as long as he/she makes it into the world !!!! Everything doesn't have to be a damn competition... you get no bragging rights or kudos from me because you chose to forego meds.... my son's heart rate kept dropping with each contraction... and would not have been able to handle active labor and pushing .... giving birth is not black and white ... you never know what's going to happen ... ok rant over ... just get SO ANNOYED with this and the breastfeeding battle as well

No not technically,  HOWEVER there is absolutely, 100 percent NOTHING wrong with getting a c-section. In the end we all end up with a baby, and that's what is important. I think we label things far too much and it makes others feel bad

I don't think it's natural but I don't think it's bad. "Natural" is nothing but a buzz word to me.

I tried to go 100% natural and after about 19 hrs of labor I didn't make it past 6cm. I had to have a c-section. I cried before I went in to Op, and really had to tell myself there was nothing more I could do. In the end I got the love of my life, and I'm proud of trying!

I believe that giving birth in any way including cesarean is natural. Having a baby is a beautiful thing and the way in which you give birth shouldn't change the view on it.

If you labour naturally but then have to have an emerg c sec thats a natural labour, but still no, not a natural birth.
