Membrane sweep?

So my dr changed my due date (AGAIN) and said I will be induced Monday at 5am. I had my membranes stripped and he said that it could take about 48hrs for the full effect. He also said I am 3 centimeters dilated, when I was 1.5 centimeters dilated on Sunday. I guess my question is, how effective is a membrane sweep this far along in the game and this dilated? I've been having contractions since he stripped them, but not close enough together to go to the hospital. I've never had this done before so I'm just really curious on others' experience and guesses on when you think I could go into actual labor.
