Parenting time for 10 month old

So, my sons father and I are trying to work out a good parenting time schedule, and are having a hard time agreeing. My county gave me a schedule with guidelines, but it says he should not start overnights until 18 months old. My ex doesn't agree with this, and his family has been bullying me for considering these guidelines. He has been visiting him over here at my house because he lives 2 hours away, and I even let him spend the night on the couch to have more time with our son. Family court says it can be psychologically harmful to separate a child that young from their primary caregiver. Have any of you had your children have overnights at a young age, and they weren't affected by it? Or were they? I just want to do what's best for my son.
