Help , advice needed

Anybody been told they can't have an epidural due to health issues ? So options are natural vaginal birth or c section under general anesthesia. What did you have ? What was recovery like ? I'm so scared to push my son out natural I'm scared of ripping I'm scared of all that , but also with a c section being put fully to sleep I'm scared about what happens when I wake up will they bring my baby right to me or what? Any advice is welcome
