cows milk at 11 months??

My son is 11 months on Friday. I just recently found out I'm pregnant again and am worried I'm drying up! I really don't want to give him formula this late in the game. Has anyone ever started cows milk around this time??

Ashley, I just recently starting running extremely low on my frozen breastmilk stash and due to also expecting again, I am no longer pumping. So this week I have been adding 1 oz whole cows milk to my baby girls 4 oz of breastmilk. She gets about 5 sippy cup full of 5 oz at a time and next week I will do 2 oz of whole milk to 3 oz of  breastmilk, then adding an extra ounce of cows milk each week,  to slowly introduce her. Not sure if your pumping or not but my daughter seems to be handling the slow transition just fine! I personally think making the abrupt transition may be hard on her little tummy. You could always nurse first and offer a sippy with 1 to 2 oz of whole milk to start with! Good luck with your new pregnancy and transition to whole milk! 😊

My daughter is 11 months and drinks cows milk just fine. In fact it was suggested to me to start giving it to her now so she would be used to it by 12 months and could completely come off the formula I have used for supplementing. I am also pregnant again (18 wks) and while I was told my body is perfectly capable of producing enough milk for both I do feel that I am not producing nearly enough to sustain her as her solids and cows milk intake has increased tremendously in the last few weeks.

My son takes formula still hes allergic to dairy n soy. Going to taper off it soon my container says till 12 months which is next week. 😊. Have no idea what to give him after.. i guess maybe almond milk 😮. Ill check in with his dr.

I did give Lillian 2% milk one time and she was fine. And she's also drink some of my nieces almond milk which she was OK with as well. Best choice is to talk to your doctor and you guys figure out a plan together.

I don't think you need to give formula. My son is still breastfed but he has full fat Greek yogurt all the time. I'm not planning on giving him milk. I'm planning on giving ripple, almond, rice, and other nut milks. But I don't think giving cows milk now at 11 months old is wrong. I highly doubt it will be a problem for your baby

I'm starting to add some to my pumped milk because my little guy is self weaning from the boob. So I'm gonna add just a little in at a time with his expressed milk until I run out 😖 I'm also pregnant again. I didn't dry up, he's just been self weaning since we introduced BLW.
