std testing in a committed relationship

My boyfriend and I have been together over a year and have never had any open problems about cheating we are in a committed relationship is it a red flag if he randomly wants to go get tested together ? Neither one of us had anything and I took his virginity . Is he messing off or could it be that he doesn't trust me ?
