Egg Announcement For Grandma UPDATE
My SO's mom is coming out to visit (his whole family lives on the other side of the country) and even though I'm only 7 weeks we want to tell her the news! This will be his only opportunity to tell any of his family in person so I wanted it to be really neat. I hollowed out an egg, and cleaned it thoroughly and let it dry out for like a week. Then spray painted it gold and made up this little note. You have to make the hole in the bottom big enough for a rolled up piece of paper. Anyway, the note is inside and he's going to give her the egg when we pick her up at the airport! So excited 😊
Anyway we aren't telling anyone else until after my first scan next week, so I wanted to share with you guys 😊
UPDATE: We presented her with the egg and she was reluctant to crack it because it was "too beautiful". She did though and then she read the note and her expression was worth it 100 times over. She almost cried and started congratulating us and hugging us. Her flight got in super late, so here's the 3 of us shrieking in the kitchen and group hugging at midnight LOL. Anyway, she was delighted and then sad that she had to break the egg, but I told her I had a backup egg (I made 2 in case) and she could take that home as a keepsake, with the note. Well that was the second best thing she had heard all night LOL. I'm just glad it was so well received!
