Ear infection in a 5 month old :( just need some mommy comfort and advice..

I originally thought my little guy had just a cold but after 2 days I just felt like something wasn't right so I took him in to the doctor and he has an ear infection in his right ear. I know this is just apart of mommy hood but I just feel so bad for him. Two teeth coming in, a cold along with an ear infection :( another thing that's really worrying me is that there is blood in his snot when his nose runs :( that REALLY scared me. I told the doctor about it but he just prescribed the antibiotics for the ear infection and didn't say much about it. Well it happened again tonight with the bloody mucus and it even drained down in his throat from his nose and it was bloody! It scared me so much and I'm just feeling overwhelmed.
