formula fed - do you wake baby to eat?

My son is 6 weeks old, he's formula fed. He's beginning to sleep 5 hours at a time at night.. sometimes I feel like he could sleep even longer but I normally end up worrying and waking him before he reaches 5 hours.Do you wake your formula fed baby up at night to eat??

It takes babies longer to digest formula so for them to sleep 4-5 hours is normal. Baby will let you know if they are hungry. If weight gain is an issue then I would totally wake them but if not then I wouldn't. My friend has a 7 week old that is formula fed and he sleeps through the night.

My pediatrician told me during the day not to let them go more than 4hrs between eating. But I dont need to wake him at night sense he is reached his birth weight. But I think every doctor is different.

You should wake your baby up during the day every 2-3 hours and every 4 hours at night.
