Leftover HCG or pregnant?

I had a mc in October and a D&C Dec 5th, I have not had AF. Last couple days my boobies are super sore, I'm tired and so I took a hpt and got a faint positive. Don't want to get my hopes up because might be still HCG from mc? But how do I know?

Sorry for your loss. 
My doctor said that HCG levels take a while to get out if your system, and everyone is different. I mc at 11 weeks (had a d&c a week later) and it took 2 weeks for me to get my first negative test. 
If you can't/don't want to see your doctor yet, you can so another pregnancy test. If the line gets darker you will know it's 'new' HCG.

It took about a 2 and a half months for my levels to go down to normal after my first 2mc which were natural, and about a month and a half to 2 months for my last one which was D & C. Call your doc or take a test, probably both are a good idea. Test then call if it's positive. Have they been drawing your blood to test the hCG levels? Mine did it weekly until they were normal.
