I put a lot of kg  on my wen I got shot or this is normal

Depo is the only BC that suggests a link to weight gain. 1 in 4 users gain a significant amount of weight and 3 in 4 gain some weight. Generally for BC it isn't the hormones directly causing fat to appear but rather the changes the new hormones lead to like increased appetite, lower metabolism, increased water retention, and fatigue. If you don't work out regularly or begin to eat more you're more likely to gain weight. It helps to workout regularly, eat a relatively healthy balanced diet, and monitor your weight so you can identify if your metabolism or water retention have changed. So overall, the BC isn't directly causing weight gain, your decisions after changes to your body are made are what lead to weight gain.

Answer

Any sort of hormonal birth control carries the risk of weight gain. Drs will say that it's nothing significant that cannot be managed by excercise or diet. I don't think it's as simple as that for some people and it was one of the things I couldn't avoid with bc.
