I'm having trouble finding an apartment that allows me to have my 5 year old black lab. I've had her since I was 18 and I could NEVER get rid of her, but some of my family keeps bothering me about finding her a new home. To me if you get a puppy that's the same kind of commitment as having a child. It's a choice and no one expects me to get rid of my child because times are tough or I can't afford it, instead they expect me to do what ever I can to support that child. To me it's the same with a dog.
