This is pretty long but will be funny one day 😂 Thursday night we were in the town where my ob/gyn is located to visit family for Thanksgiving. I had been having contractions for 2 weeks and baby boy was engaged already so we kept ourselves and the two year old visiting a lot later than planned in order to stay closer to the doctor. We finally left around 9:45pm for the hour drive home. When we got home, my husband went to Walmart for Black Friday while I took a shower. While in the shower I started getting blurred vision so we went to the Fire Dept. about 11:30 to ge my bp checked. It was 150/110 so I called L &D and they said come in to let us check you. Got my mom to come stay with the sleeping daughter and we got back in the car and drove the hour back to town. Got to L & D, they monitored for an hour and decided to send us home at 2 since I had an appointment Monday and the on-call doc was my doctor. We walked all the way across the whole building to get out since the main entrance was closed already and started for home. 3 miles out of town I told my husband I was having some cramps, but I thought it was just the diarrhea I had been having for two days. We finally get home at 3 and I hurried to the bathroom. Got in there, pulled ny pants down, and realized that my panties and pants were soaked. Called out to husband, and said "Either I just really peed myself or my water broke" Hubby stuck his head in the door and said "What?!?! 😑." I looked in the toilet and saw the blood, then turned to hubby and said, "It was my water...why does this baby hate me?!?!" Now I am in tears because my pants are soaked and they are the only clean pants that aren't outside in my birthing bag that has been packed for two weeks. We get back in the car and drive the hour back with me having contractions that are being timed at 1 min and 30 secs apart. The hour trip did NOT take an hour with hubby driving 80 miles an hour with hazard lights on 😂😂😂. Got back up to L & D and was 3cm dilated. Got my iv drugs and then went from 3cm dilated to 7 in an hour of contracting. Then I went from 7 to complete in another 5 minutes. Pushed through 2 contractions and our baby boy arrived at the third . He is Gryffin Kyle, 5lbs 13 oz, 18.5 inches long born at 34 + 5 weeks. Perfectly healthy and no NICU stay of any sort 😍😍😍😍😃😃😃😃
