what's the best laptop?

I was thinking of getting hubby a laptop for christmas. He wants one that can be touchscreen as well, and that is fast. I know nothing about them and my research is getting me nowhere.

Ive seen ones that are touchscreen and have siri or cortana on them? Anyone have any laptops they can recommend?

I'm married to Mr. BestBuy, so he has every electronic under the sun. He hates his MacBook as he says it's too weak (he doesn't play games or do any graphic work). He finds his Microsoft tablets to be ok but he loves his Alienware laptop.  He just ordered the new version of it but in a 13" bc it's more powerful and lighter at 5lbs vs 7 😳 He uses everything for work so he likes that the Alienware can handle it all.

My SO loves his Surface, it's touchscreen and I bought a keyboard for it, he uses both. He only uses the Internet so I don't know how it would perform with other activities. Personally I prefer Mac products but I'm not familiar with what's currently available since I haven't needed a new one in 10 years.

I work in IT and I fix computers on the side. Touchscreen laptops are HORRIBLE!!! Most of the time people end up breaking the screens from touching it so much. That or the drivers have issues that are near impossible to fix. Kids are the worst with touch screens since they just bang on it all the time. I won't ever spend extra money on a touchscreen. You have to figure out what he will be using it for. The average person who isn't gaming and just doing internet browsing doesn't need a 2k gaming laptop. You could be fine with an i3 and 4 gig of ram

I got a new laptop a while ago. I'll have to go look and see what brand it is I can't remember I got it at Best Buy. And I love it. It's big, touch screen, turns into a tablet. Fast, lot of space.

I always recommend Mac computers. They outlast any pc I have ever had. I'm using my MacBook pro and it's 6 years old now. 3 tears is the longest use I got from any of my multiple pcs. I prefer mac OS as well. I'm not a fan of windows OS. The MacBook pros are pricey and I am not a huge fan of the new one. They have the touch bar in them which I see as useless but maybe others don't. Siri is a feature in these machines as well.

If you go with a Microsoft, you'd have to pay about the same as a mac to get a laptop that is equal in performance to a MacBook pro. I don't really like any of the others. My boyfriend had an hp laptop that's touch screen. It sucks if you ask me. I'd never buy it again. It does have Cortana I believe which is basically the same thing as Siri.
