maternity leave at 30 weeks??

Question

I am currently 29 weeks with my second child. This pregnancy was far beyond rough compared to being pregnant with my daughter! I work at a fast food place so I'm on my feet 8 or 9 hours a day. I put in my notice already for January 13th which will put me at 36 weeks. I had my daughter right at 36 weeks so I don't want to push it. But at the moment I'm sick with a cold, miserable, & seems like work could care less if I'm dying.. I've about had it. Idk whether I should go ahead & quit (I do not plan on going back there once I have my little boy) or just tough it out until January 😔

Depends on how badly you need the money! I would quit if I had the option, plus if you're quitting anyway it doesn't really matter but you could put in like 2 weeks notice now so you don't completely burn a bridge (especially if you go back to work after baby and they look for good references). I've been off since October 24 at 26 weeks due to high risks. Because it is medical leave I am entitled to compensation however the process takes incredibly long. 
As long as being unpaid isn't going to affect your situation you should go for it. You will be able to recover and hopefully enjoy the last weeks of your pregnancy.

I just got taken out of work at 29 weeks for being High risk. I'm a RN and spend most my shift on my feet, lifting patients, and dealing with interesting cases. My OB told me she didn't want me working and wrote me out.

Unless there is a medical reason, most docs will not write you out that early. But if you don't need the job or Insurance, i would just quit.
