Piercings and Tattoos

Okay so I got my belly button pierced and basically almost passed out, I have a very low pain tolerance, but I want my nose pierced, which I heard from everyone doesn't hurt but knowing me it will hurt like hell, and I want tattoos. My boyfriend fell asleep getting his, he said it feels like someone scratching a really bad sunburn. So any suggestions to ease pain when I get piercings and tattoos? And where should I get my first tattoo? I want side tattoos but I read that's the worst spot to get your first tattoo.
