Any dentists here ? 😩

I've moved out for uni and have exams from next week and out of all the things that could have happened the top of my molar tooth on my bottom jaw has completely broke off there's a bit of tooth that's not broken off a tiny bit, and the rest is my gum. I had a root canal done on this tooth before. Surely there should be teeth under the gum as the tooth that broke off had no roots attached it was just flat. I'll have to wait for My exams to end until I can go home and see a dentist, but all I can think about is the open gum and spread of bacteria. Will I be ok 😩
