I got the Nexplanon inserted a couple days ago, still bruised and my arm doesn't hurt as much anymore! How do you guys like it? First time trying birth control so I thought I'd give this one a shot :)

Be careful. I had this before and it was like the blood gates of hell unleashed. I would bleed for two weeks straight and it was heavy. I thought I was the only one but then my coworker recently got it and she's experiencing the same thing. She plans on taking hers out next month. I took mine out as soon as I got back from deployment.

Had an implant couple years back. Got it removed last year. 
It also makes you put on weight and I had a weird allergy-like hive bump around the area at m least ones a month. I thought I might be allergic to the hormone being released but nothing major happened other than it itched then disappears after 1 day until the next month.

It was sore for a day or two, but not that bad. I also spotted for a few weeks but my first period on it has been so light! So far I think its pretty nice

I've got a pretty high pain tolerance, I just have a weird issue with needles. Mine went in just fine with minimal bruising, I didn't think the numbing shot(s) hurt much, I wasn't looking so that helped. My SO was showing me videos of corgis on his iPhone the whole time. I've had it for about 10 months now and I rarely have a full blown period, and when I do it's more like heavy spotting- but I do spot lightly pretty frequently. I always have to carry panty liners with me because it's hard to track when that'll happen. I used to get awful cramps that would nearly make me immobile, but they're much more manageable now. I love the implant because I feel safe not using a condom with my SO. I'm only worried about the removal process.

I used an implant called Implanon - I'm in Australia so same product maybe just a different name? - for two three-year cycles and it was a dream! Barely ever got a full period, if I did it only lasted a day. No weight gain, no emotional side effects, I really loved it! I only had to switch because of other diabetic related health issues. Good luck!! I'm sure you'll be fine! Think positive 💕

i hated it the periods were abnormal and the different discharges that were abnormal

I wouldn't recommend it. Sex drive is going to be gone completely and if you do manage to have sex it'll hurt sooo much to the point where you'll have tears.
