help counting back contractions!

How did you ladies track your back contractions when they seem to never end??! My back literally is non stop in pain and it's hard to tell when they are starting and stopping. My front is pretty consistent on being hard and I can't even feel when it moves there because I'm in so much pain from the back. This is my third but my first time experiencing back contractions, also the first time I've had such painful contractions before my water has broken. I know I'm dilated 1 and have been losing my mucous plug so my body is getting ready just can't tell with this when to get ready to call/go in!
