Do you ever remove the carseat base?

Ftm stupid question time!
Why do sites consider the full weight of the car seat including base?  Doesn't the base always stay in the car unless you need to take it along on, say, a flight or to  temporarily out it in someone else's car?
You don't use the base in a stroller, right?

Not a stupid question , FTM here as well and I'm actually terrified and looking for a class to take to show me how to even put a car seat in properly and where buckles should be. Etc. I feel so dumb but we're just not born with this knowledge lol. I'm glad you asked because I was wondering about the base as well.

Look up "car seat safety" on facebook. It's a group. It's so helpful.

You do generally leave the base in the car and it doesn't go in the stroller. I'm not sure why they put that other than just general knowledge I guess.
