IUD-- no strings after a week?

So I got ParaGard than a week ago. Finally dug up there today to check for the strings, & I could not find them. Felt all around my cervix, nothing.

Has this happened to anybody else? I haven't felt any weird side effects other than bad cramps the first day & occasional cramping since, so I doubt it's expelled or perforated or anything, & I surely haven't seen it come out in the toilet.

Perhaps my cervix is just in a bad position right now & I can't reach it? I'd call up my doctor but that doctor is a Planned Parenthood in a different state...

Yes that happened to me , I had felt them and three days later they were gone. I had it done by planned parenthood and the doctor couldn't  find the strings either because at times it wraps around your cervix but in my case my uterus is just long so they sent me for a sonogram to check if it was in place which it was. Sometimes it is normal but just try to see a doctor so they do a exam or a sonogram because it could move out of place , get imbedded , or fall out.
