breastfeeding to formula help
If I'm going to give my baby formula when she's been breastfeeding can I transition immediately or do I need to start slow?
I've cut out so much food to help her but her gas is just terrible, her tummy gets hard and she cries non stop. She also latches and unlatches slot during feeding. I thought maybe the flow is too much so I tried pumping as well, or maybe not enough but I do have a pretty good milk supply. I've cut out dairy and literally almost every vegetable. I don't eat anything sweet if she might have reflux. I rub her belly, give her diluted chamomile tea, gripe water, gas drops, you name it I've probably tried it! Yesterday was horrible she was awake from 4:30 am until 7pm took maybe 3 -10 minute naps throughout the whole day. Finally managed to help her pass the gas and she knocked out at 7pm and slept about 4-5 hours. I just don't know what to do, I don't even know what to eat anymore!!! It's really stressing me out. I wanted to breastfeed so bad but now I'm considering formula. Dr told me I might have to if my baby's gas it still bad. I don't see the dr until Friday so thought I'd ask on here for now. Sorry so long, but I'm really desperate here. I average about 2-4 hours a day MAYBE!. I'm exhausted!!
