Advice***my daughters dad

I met my daughters father when I lived New York . We were okay until I got pregnant in 2012 with our daughter. When I was pregnant I was always in the house alone, always drinking, and always getting high on   Pcp (no I didn't know he smoked when I got with him) after I had my daughter Leighlany we started fighting non stop verbally and physically . I didn't want my daughter thinking she could settle for less , so o left when she was 3 months old and I moved to Pennslyvania. Since 2012 I got a job house and I am stable. He still doesn't work, lives at home with his mom, and probably still drinks and smokes. He is on her birth certificate. I am wanting to file for full custody, but I am a little worried ive heated that they usually grant joint custody. He had a son 5 years old that I didn't know about when I was pregnant . He was put on child child support for $25 a MONTH! Which he is 300 behind on . I DO NOT want money from him. I just want full custody. I would agree with supervised visits with the court. What have any ones expirence have been if you filed for full custody? Any input would help please. I'm scared they'd grant us joint custody and he would be able to take her out of state I'm not sure how joint custody works for different states.
