Sounds like he was trying to give his friend advice. Calling him whipped and doesn't think you're worth him being whipped for whatever reason. Maybe he met you and thought that you were rude and bitchy. He said that trying to protect his friend from getting hurt, thinking that you two aren't going to stay together long so it's no reason to ditch his friends because he shouldn't be taking you serious. Your BF let him know where he stands as far as you are concerned and he respected it and backed of.
