Sex related injuries

Okay, so my boyfriend and I have a pretty healthy sexual relationship and just recently we came to a bit of a pickle that I could really use some advice on. 

During (shower) sex my boyfriend pulled out because he started bleeding from the head of his penis, right beneath the foreskin. He said it hurt for a little while (which obviously got me a little worried!) and blood gushed out for a good 10 minutes. We waited a week before trying to have sex again (protected) but it just happened again and even though he said he doesn't mind that the cut opens up I am really hesitant to hurt him in any way... has anyone else had a problem like this? How do you go about treating this type of injury? Please no judgement I just want to be able to have sex with my boyfriend without causing non-consensual pain...
