36 weeks dilating?

So I was 36 weeks as of yesterday and know it's just a waiting game for whenever she wants to come ( I don't want her to come preterm, I just mean she could do anything at this point.)

Anyway, I had my first exam Thursday and was told I was a centimeter dilated and my cervix was opening. I know I could stay a centimeter for a while but is it normal to get a thick discharge (pic below, don't judge me I was worried) like this at this point? I've had smaller amounts like this before.
I have also had random cramps here and there, but they're nothing majorly painful.

I can't believe they already checked you at 36 weeks!! That can cause so many infections being checked too early. But to answer your questions you can stay that way for a while and go over due, you are probably having Braxton hicks as there is no pattern to them and the thick discharge is normal. Just take it easy :)

Hi!  So I Am a FTM, and from all the stories I have read, if you haven't already lost your mucus plug this could be it. Just monitor your discharge and make sure that you report anything abnormal to your doctor - weird bleeding, green discharge (could be meconium).
