Was anybody able to successfully breasted after a mastitas

I tryed with my first but she favored the right side and sadly my pump didn't do much to clear the left side. My ducts got clogged and my boob actually exploded. I lasted 3 1/2 months despite the pain i had on the left. Nothing i tryed to get her to latch or clear it helped. I see a lot of my friends being negative about breastfeeding and it makes me desperately want to breastfeed my second baby when it comes in may since i couldn't continue with my daughter due to being dry by the time i didn't need the pain meds. I read a few things that said if you've had it before you shouldn't try to breastfeed again cause it could happen again.
