Overreacting?
So my husband wants GTA 5 which I never cared before then tonight he was playing for his friends and I was a little disturbed by what I was seeing and hearing. They kept saying how they "raped" that player and how it was gentle kind rape or how it was rough horrible rape. Just a lot of stuff like that. I don't find that funny and when it lasted more than a few minutes with me in the room I asked them to stop. I wasn't rude or mean just said I don't really like hearing that stuff. They all apologized and quit. I've told my husband in the past that I don't at all approve of joking about rape. Rape isn't a joke. It isn't funny. He also would walk up and ax civilians and then just repeatedly hit them after they died. I know that's normal but I'm just so used to seeing him as the kind, wouldn't hurt a fly guy that he is, so seeing him act like this was a little disconcerting. Later he asked about running by GameStop and trading in some other games to buy this game and I told him I really didn't like seeing him be so violent and aggressive both in his speech and in his behavior in the game. I told him I don't care if he gets it as long as he doesn't continues acting like that. Personally, if prefer he not own it but I also believe I'm his wife not his mother. I would feel wrong telling him he can't. I know if I asked him not to he wouldn't buy it but I feel so guilty. Am I overthinking this? Thoughts?
