Should girlfriends/boyfriends be included in family pictures?

Say the family only gets together once every few years and they haven't been together long.

No bc then if couple breaks up or ruins the photo. Many people don't want their ex hanging on relatives walls. I would never allow my kids boyfriends when that time comes to be in family photos

I think it depends on the couple and the family, my cousin just got married and my boyfriend was going to stay out of the picture but she said 'your having a baby he's part of the family', we've been together coming up on two years in February, and also included my other cousins boyfriend, they weren't even dating a year at the time.

Depends on your preference. My MIL will not allow unless you are engaged or married. Even if you have been dating for years she still will not allow it. Crazy but it's the way she grew up. And you have to respect it.

when my husband and i were dating his family always wanted to include me. we always did some pictures with and some without. just in case haha.

I would say no. Unless they're engaged, then I don't really consider them to be apart of the family yet. Even my SO, been together for 5+ years and we still we put him in family photos. So instead, there's and extra photo for just me and him. I can't stand people that impose on the family. Have some respect for your family and listen to what they have to say.

We just had family pictures for my husband's side and both of his sisters have boyfriends. The one has been dating this guy for 3+ years and the other one maybe 3 months top. We included both the boyfriends because we didn't want to make the one sister feel left out. Idk. In my opinion I could see having him in a couple, but not everyone of them. Then, they did a family photo of my husband, mom/dad, and his 2 sisters, but I felt like I should have been a part of a couple of them since I'm married. That made me feel left out, but maybe I'm crazy lol.
