sore nipples but no visible issues- advice?

Hi all! My babe is 4 weeks old. breastfeeding has been getting a lot easier, but over the past few days my nipples have been super sore. Other than redness, there isn't anything visibly wrong. Baby seems to latch just fine. I also pump 2-4 times per day. Anyone have an idea of what the problem might be? And any treatment ideas?

it could be a potential yeast infection. my nurse said sometimes there are no visible signs. im no good at explaining so maybe you could google it

Mine will feel sore & sensitive sometimes, too. I have some shea butter based nipple cream that I got from Wal-Mart that helps a ton with just 1 application.

There is a growth spurt around that time I believe. Is your baby eating a lot more recently? My baby is 3 months old now and I remember around that time she ate non stop and they got really sore and tender but after that week everything was healed and good to go.

Has your baby been assessed for tongue and lip ties? Can cause super bad soreness without being obvious at all. Latch can look perfect but what's going on inside can be wrong. I would see a lactation consultant :)

Try some coconut oil in the inside of the breast shield. My nipples had the same problem. It ended up being from the friction when pumping.
