I'm sorry but this is going to be brutally honest... a break after only being with each other for 5 months is ridiculous. Taking a 'break' or 'breather' after 10 years is slightly different. That is not out of love and you should stop wasting your time on him. You're meant to be in the honeymoon phase still where it's all lovely and amazing. Not taking breaks after only being together for 5 months...

He's probably not ready for a serious relationship but not contacting you for a week isn't considerate I would contact him & see what's going on if he ignores you or can't give you a straight answer I'd break up

You don't take breaks in relationships. You're either in or you're out.

My ex and I were together almost 2 years and out of the blue he said he wanted us to take a break. No, no breaks. I told him it's either we stay together & figure it out or I'm out. He wanted the break. So I said "fuck you I'm out!" And I moved from upstate NY to Charleston SC. I wanted to be someplace warmer anyway so it worked out perfectly lol. He was pisses that I moved and didn't believe me. He called me and I was in the process of moving stuff into my apartment. Then shortly after I moved I met the love of my life, we've been married almost 3 years now and ttc #1 😊

I know, you've only been with him for 5 months but that's not how a relationship works. I'd try and talk to him. See what's going on & if you can work things out. If neither of you are "feeling it", then I would leave. There are plenty of men out there.
