Miscarriage?

I haven't had a period for about 3 months, but only tested positive on a pregnancy test 2 weeks ago(I test every month on the same say day regardless). I was having some moderate cramping on my right side so took a hpt "pregnant", then on Friday I had really bad cramps like rolled up in a ball in bed cramps, my vaginal mucus became really clear, and then a huge rush of blood I maybe bled for an hour, but it was super heavy. Then the bleeding stopped completely I was sore the rest of the weekend and now I feel perfectly fine... was that a miscarriage? I have a doctor's appointment for the 21st should I call them sooner?
