kiddie perms

So I was thinking about the Tyra show for some odd reason and I remembered an episode she did about mothers and their children's hair. She talked about some of the ways these mothers tamed their children's hair. Some kids were natural, some kids had weave, some mothers purposely had kids outside their race so their kids can have "better quality" hair and there was this one mother that would perm her  3 year old daughters hair. The mother was talking about how it was  easier for her to maintain and that combing her daughters hair isn't as stressful as it was before her perm.  So my question is how to ya'll feel about little kids getting perms? I personally have nothing against perms/relaxers if that's what you want I'm going to shame you but because of how damaging perms and relaxers can be I think the children should stay natural until they are like 11-12.
