baby shower

When I told my bf mom I was having a baby shower she basically told me I wasn't. I honestly just laughed cause who the hell are you to tell me I'm not having a baby shower. She said "says who" says me and your son. We agreed to have a baby shower but we aren't throwing it and I told her that and she goes "don't let me get ahold of your mother #". 🙄 my moms going to say the same thing, who the hell are you to tell me I can't throw my daughter a baby shower. I think she just feels like I want to have one just so everybody can buy the "big stuff" then I don't have to. Um no my registry has nothing over 30$ on it, I plan to get my own cribs (having twins), my mom told me she was getting both car seats and my grandparents are getting my double stroller. So please what "big stuff" am I really looking to get? If I want to let my family throw a baby shower for me WHY IS THAT A ISSUE! My boyfriend is excited as well, he wants to help plan and already thought of the guest list for his side of the family. If she feel that she doesn't want to bring a gift I honestly won't care she'll have to deal with her son attitude not mines but I'm having a baby shower either way I just don't understand why the dads mom is always so hard on the person carrying the babies 🙄
