Can constipation also be a sign of labor?

I always hear diarrhea but never constipation. The reason I ask is I've been really constipated after I was last admitted to the hospital for pre term labor, I got extra liquid and found out I was 1 cm dilated and my contractions are changing my cervix. Well now it's been like 5 days since I've used the bathroom and I'm really concerned, I can't use methods to make me go do to an allergy i have to all the medicine in it. I've already had a suppository but nothing has happened. I looked it up on Google and read someone said it can also be a sign of labor. Any insight on that?
