I'm upset

My boyfriend(now ex) broke up with me the day after our 5-month anniversary. We were best friends beforehand and I really cared for him. He said he wanted a more "adventurous" relationship and didn't want to be tied down by my parents rules(they made a lot of compromises with my relationship..which is a lot considering how strict they are). He asked for his things right after because he wanted conversation starters for a trip he has coming up so I arrange for a time for him to get it. He never shows up and when I messaged him he said he wasn't coming and that he will pick it up Saturday. Then yesterday he snaps me a Trump cigar(don't judge his political choice,I respect it and he respected mine) and was so happy about it.  I don't know what to do....I love him but he is confusing me with all this. Any advice?
