water to help poop?

So my newborn is constipated. She is 2 weeks and 4 days. If I give her some water will that help, or what can I do???? I can tell she is in sooo much pain, & I feel so horrible for her.

It's normal to be constipated. Unless she's in extreme discomfort, it's normal.

Call you pediatrician first to see what they say. Prune juice diluted with water worked for my first daughter and that is what her doctors suggested. However, two weeks old is really young to have juice.

Call your pediatrician and ask their advice. Mine suggested giving my daughter a small dose of mineral oil with her milk. & when that didn't work I used an infant suppository.

If you are breastfeeding, remove dairy from your diet and see if that helps. Worked wonders for my babe, she's 7 months now.

Are you breastfeeding her? If your not and she is having formula then try changing the milk!☺ my friend had her baby two months ago, he went 5 days without pooing and she changed his milk, he's regular now and definitely a lot happier!☺

And maybe some gripe would work.

Water is bad for babies as crazy as that sounds.

Always call doc before giving baby water. Have you tried gas drops ? I know my baby get gas and is just miserable.

I wouldn't suggest water,  I've always heard babies can't digest regular water. For my baby I use gripe water,  gas drops and pear juice.  The pear juice really helps.  Her dr also did prune juice works too.  If you dont have any of that for the evening you could lightly massage your little ones tummy in circles and move the babies legs like riding a bike
