BOY HELP!!!!

I haven't been able to get over a guy and it's been a year now. we are still in contact because all of our friends are friends with each other. I assumed he had gotten over me and each day for some strange reason i grow to love him more. We used to be in a thing and i completely friend zoned him because i just didn't want a relationship because i didn't feel as if i was ready. That little fling ended ages ago and all of a sudden his friend tells me that he loves me. I'm not sure if tha was just a joke but it's been making me feel all weird inside. I don't know what's going on .
