Do you/will you let your child/ren watch tv?

I have a 5 month old who sits in his swing of a morning after waking up and watches the movie RIO. Its a daily routine for us. Then my 4 year old watches youtube on the tv and he picks the ones where you watch other kids play with toys. He will then grab his toys and play while watching it. I dont see the harm in it. If all the child did was watch tv then yeah that would be a problem. But if the child gets enough attention from their parents, others, plays ect then tv isnt a problem to me.

My daughter just turned 2 and her daily routine is wake up, have a cup of milk and watch an episode of Mickey Mouse. Im not a morning person so when I wake up I don't talk to anyone for about 30 mins lol.  Kids are human like us!

The 4 years old, sure. No big deal. The baby? No. absolutely not.

AAP current recommendation is educational only tv starting at 18 months. It used to be none until age 2.

I have 3 kids. None of them really watched tv before 18 months and I certainly never parked them in front of the tv as baby's. Limited tv time after that is completely acceptable. There are a lot of studies about what tv is bad for a growing brain and limits the scope of their thinking. I see no reason to rush something so unnecessary

No not much tv at all for us. Almost nothing before the age of 2. And very limited after that age. I mostly allow only previewed DVD learning programs. 
My son is 4 and my daughter is 17 months and this is how I have raised them. The only time I give permission for my son to watch something is when my daughter is down for her nap. So she has rarely watched anything. It has worked well for us but I realize my method is not for everyone.

My kids will be allowed to watch very limited tv. I'll have to select what I feel is ok for them to watch. Mainly just some cartoons.

My son is not one to play by himself for more than 10 mins, if TV will keep him busy for an hour while I get sh*t done then 💁🏻💁🏻💁🏻

I was limited to 30 minutes of TV or one movie per day until I graduated high school. I can't thank my parents enough for how beneficial that rule was.

My son doesn't watch tv or movies often (unless he's at Grammys or Gigi's, or in the hospital and can't leave his room) he also has a tablet that he's limited to for 1 hour a day, IF he listens and picks up his room.

My son loves watching mommy's shows with me he has since he was like 6 weeks and now he's 15 weeks. We watch little Einsteins as well. We sing, play in jumper, on play mat and everything. I think tv can be educational.

My son likes Winnie the Pooh. He watches the version I had when I was a kid-- so funny how many jokes and gags there were aimed at adults! It all went over my head back then😊.

At 5 months absolutely not. My daughter didn't start watching TV until she could comprehend and learn from it. Anything sooner I feel is damaging. At 5months she was listening to music or exploring with toys
