No Ultrasound Until 20 Weeks?

Hey, I'm a ftm and trying to figure out how normal this is. My OB won't schedule an ultrasound until 20 weeks and that's the only one the entire pregnancy. Is this normal? It seems like most of you ladies have gotten multiple ultrasounds before 20 weeks.

Usually you should have one it the beginning to determine a more accurate due date and then 1 more at week 20. You should look into new doctors because I never heard of that.

Usually you get one in the first trimester to make sure baby is in there and that there is enough fluid in the sack the. One around 20 weeks for an anatomy scan and gender check. It's normal to only get two but one seems odd to me

Some doctors do more than that, but it's not uncommon for a doctor to only do a 20 week ultrasound. If it's important to you to have more, you can find another doctor, but it's not usually necessary in a typical, healthy pregnancy.

Wow, I’ve at least had two with my pregnancies, but this one I have had 2 and I’ll do my 20 week next week

It isn't uncommon. All of the research I've done actually said 2 ultrasounds are standard. I only had one at 20 weeks, and one at 32😊 I'm now 28+3 and can't wait until my next one. The wait sucks though!!! I think it all just depends on your doctor

Thank you for responding everyone! This is my first and it took so long to get pregnant that I'm worried about it sticking. Also, I was put on fertility meds so there's a higher chance of it being twins. I really don't want a surprise of two babies at 20 weeks. Can you get one on your own?

This my 3rd pregnancy, different doctors with each and they've all done it the same. First appt ultrasound, 20 week ultrasound.  Just the 2 for the whole pregnancy.

I had one at my first appointment, then my anatomy scan and we had another one done at the hospital only because they thought something was wrong with my boys heart, I had a normal growth scan today at 30+5 and I get one more at I think she said 36 or 38 weeks.

I had one after my first appointment to determine how far along I was and then one at 19 weeks.
