Alone for the holidays😩

My SO left me for Christmas😭 it's not his fault his mother made him go. I would've gone...but she and I don't get along and it really puts him in a bad position and I didn't want to ruin the holiday for him. He's all emotional about it, he could've stayed but I don't want to separate him from his family but I'm miserable cause I miss him 💔 Was I wrong ? Should I have gone with him ?
