Obama admin not standing with Israel

I see so many Obama positive posts and I've never really cared for him but the recent news of him breaking our ties with our ally Israel really made me dislike him. It was one of our only democratic allies in the Middle East, and he completely disrespected Israel by making his decision during a sacred time for them where they can't even defend themselves. I'm disgusted right now but I am also not HUGE into politics, have little knowledge in the area, and am open to different perspectives. What do you think/how do you feel about this?
