Clomid experience in uk

Hi all, we're trying to concieve no.2, first time round I was diagnosed with PCOS and put on Metformin after not conceiving for 18 months and was pregnant within 3 months. This time round I went straight on Metformin and have been on it for a year now. My GP is referring to fertility for prescription of clomid, however as I've already had an child I won't qualify for it on the NHS and will have to pay privately.

what are people's experiences getting clomid prescribed in the UK? Any GP's prescribed it? How many rounds did you have to have?
