All hair is dead, just by its very nature. What works for me is coconut oil - I cover the mid lengths to the ends of my hair in it, then put it up and leave it in for the day and night and then wash it out in the morning.

Trim the ends. Now I know as someone who LOVES my hair, the thought of cutting it horrifies me. But cutting off the dead ends will help it grow and be healthier. Argon oil has done wonders for me. Take a dab and run it through my wet hair. Don't wash your hair everyday.  I faithfully abuse my hair with heat. I wash mine 2-3 times a week and use dry shampoo to keep it looking clean. Also use good shampoo and conditioner,  there's a few drug store ones that are decent. I use Mane and Tail once in a while as well as a shampoo.

Argan oil. As soon as you get home as well smother your hair in conditioner and tie it up. Just leave it on for hours. Don't rub it into your scalp.
