Am I a really bad person .. ?

So me and my ex broke up 3 years ago we have a 7 year old together any way he used to hit me push me around and scream in my daughters face grab me by my hair in front on her his strangled me a few times to the point I can't breathe after 10 years I left him I finally picked up the courage to leave him it was 3 years ago so at first I thought I was being fair in letting him see his daughter but then he moved away for about a year any way in that hole year he made his excuses on why he couldn't see her and wat not  so I made choice his not got any time for her so I'm not having her upset when he couldn't see her a year later he came bk wanting to see her I didn't  allow it my daughter also didn't want to see him so I've kept it that way am I a bad person
