Mucus plug question?

So I took a nap earlier, and while napping kept having sharp pains here and there, most likely contractions, well i went to the bathroom, and i wiped and it was very light brownish with a little pink tint in it discharge, no blood or anything. I come to lay back down and im still having some pains mostly lower in my pelvic area And below my belly button, its nothing intense though. But could I be slowly losing my mucus plug? I'll be 38 weeks saturday, plus have my doc appointment this Friday. I'm hoping to get good news by then. Any advice?
